Discipleship is all about following Jesus, serving Him and his plans for today. Discipleship involves a ‘three-dimensional’ lifestyle: UP with God, IN with His followers, OUT in this hurting world. From the gospel of Mark we take a closer look on those three dimensions and how it may apply to our everyday life.
How do you keep your passion for Jesus alive? You so easily can lose that passion. If you lose it – you lose a lot: power, genuine praise, your ‘taste’ in this world. We will on look how the theme(s) of Ps. 107 will spur us to keep the story alive – and by doing so the Passion we have for Jesus. A powerful message on the Lord’s intervention in our lives!
Having a life of rest. Who doesn’t want that? Who is not longing for an inner peace that defines the way you live your life? We all do. And the great, powerful news is that this sort life is available. In fact, Jesus offers you to live a life with ’ at the very centre! ‘Come to me, Jesus said, and I will you rest’! Wow! What does this invitation mean? And can we enter a life of rest? And, how can we keep it at very centre of our whole being?
If Jesus would test your faith today [or maybe you are being tested as we speak], would you pass the test? The disciples’ faith was being tested while the crossed the Sea of Galilee and ended up in a storm. They failed the test and Jesus taught them what it really means when we say that we ‘trust’ him. Today we will look at this story and discover the relationship between ‘trust’, ‘discipleship’ and the Greater Faith.
Today we had the privilege of having Brooke Christensen to preach from God’s Word. Brooke is part of the team of Vineyard Amsterdam, a thriving community in the ‘big’ city. Brooke is teaching on the parable of the great banquet. A message about God as the great host and our role as welcomers in his Kingdom, in the church.
