Psalm 2

The Kingdom of Israel under David and Solomon was the kingdom at its zenith – a sign unto the whole world that life under the rule and reign of Yahweh was good. Yet, the kingdom fell apart, and one bad king after another led the people astray. The prophet Isaiah begins to look forward to a new king and a new kingdom. This is fulfilled in Jesus.

In this Gospel in the Old Testament series we are exploring several plotlines and significant themes that come up in the Old Testament, and then we uncover how they all point forward to Jesus. As we prepare our hearts for Easter, we are connecting to the unfolding story of the Old Testament, which is how God prepared the people of Israel for the Messiah.
